So, as some of you may know, I was recently in Memphis, Tennessee. With the addition of being famously racist, there is a street- Beale Street- that is like taking a little cut of Summerfest, really, and dropping it into the middle of downtown Memphis, complete with booze being sold every 25 feet. It is here that there are a mess of blues bars with neon signs and everything, cafés, and other shit, including the gimmick-y 'B.B.King's Blues Bar'. Oh, and there were a bunch of motorcycles parked.
While here, I was at this blues joint and watched these dudes play... the blues. (what a surprise.) Okay, fucking seriously, it was fucking amazing. Just.... damn. Crazy shit went down. They did this jam shit on every song, and it was an amazing show. Anyway, I bought their CD after they finished playing.
I was told by the rhythm guitar that it was recorded in his barn. Fuck yeah.
There is a different 'guest' singer on each track usually, but I'd recommend starting with the track '3AM' because not only was that one was one of the best live, but it's also got everyone that was playing that night on it. The lead singer was this awesome chain-smoking black dude that plays amazing harmonica.
Try it out, bitches.
