Land of Talk - Cloak and Cipher (2010)

That's right, TWO albums today. This one comes from my favorite female singer Elizabeth Powell's band Land of Talk. I had initially heard about these guys when I found out the drummer for The Slip (one of the greatest bands OF ALL TIME), Andrew Barr, has been a member since their last album. This is now Land of Talk's second full length record, and I've heard good things. Some Are Lakes, their debut album, is definitely worth checking out as well.

If I had to pick a sound, I'd saaaaaay...I dunno. Female vocalist. Nirvana-esque guitar riffs (at least on the first album, haven't heard a thing from this one yet despite it's decent reviews). Good enough for ya? They're a good band, what else can I say?

So why not give 'em a try?
